If You're A Black Female POW In Iraq...
Good luck.
At least that's the message the military and media
sent out while dealing w| now ex-prisoner of
war, Shoshana Johnson.
The then 30-year-old Johnson was a POW in Iraq
for 22 days along with Jessica Lynch,
her white counterpart who was 19 at
the time of the 2003 ambush.
Johnson felt that she was treated differently
b|c of her race by both the media && the military.
The media b|c they never shed light on
her side of the story && the military
b|c they played down the severity of her PTSD.
Johnson was rescued 2 weeks after Lynch
&& her book "I'm Still Standing", discussing
her experience, will be hitting shelves this month.
